1948 Flathead WL Harley Racer
Patrick from Belgium made available these photos of his good looking 1948 Flathead WL Harley Racer which he restored himself with some help of his biker friends.
Patrick: "I think your site is the right place for my bike! It is a 1948 WL, completely rebuilt including the tranny. Spent 2 years on it. Made some changes to give it a bit of a period racer look. Electronic ignition, converted to 12V, installed a small battery (7,5) and put on an old bicycle light.
Mechanical changes include a new top end (standard bore), gave the intake manifold and the cylinderheads some more flow, revised the cams (my friend Tom did). So the bike's now got a compression of 6:24 to 1.
Topspeed of 90mph! Runs great, one kick start!
Regards from Belgium!"
Well, Patrick, that sure looks like one hell of a bike!
Motorcycle happiness...
