1942 Harley WLD Flathead Bobber
Dave from Holland, Michigan, United States made available these photos of his 1942 Harley WLD Flathead Bobber which has a rare 1942 WLD motor in a 1948 chassis. She's got matching belly numbers. This is Dave's daily ride, she's able to maintain 80mph on the highway, and starts on 2nd kick no mater what.
Dave: "This bike was built from scratch 6 years ago and has 3100 miles since built. All bolts are radiused and chromed, powdercoated 18" wheels in 1928 model A cream, dual exhaust pipes , distributor is locked in advance. Bates type of mirror, ride control, steering damper.
6v Harley battery, Cycle Ray fog lens. All bearings-cables-linkages-wiring-updated coil-brackets were all new when bike was built 6 years ago, speedometer works as well as the generator light."
This bike turns heads everywhere and has taken 1st place trophys riding to events
Dave: "Motor has balance spec sheet, cams are ground to wr kh specs, 1/4 oversized valves from the already large wld specs, these are real 120 39 120 391 cylinders with no chips. Belt primary, mikuni carb, 3 speed jockey shift with frictions in clutch pedal. Barnett clutch."
That tailight is a retired Peterbuilt chicken light.
