1942 Harley WLA Flathead Bobber
Thank God There's Harleys... So, let's show them!
Norbert from Buford, Georgia, United States of America sent us these photos of his custom 1942 Harley WLA Flathead Bobber which has a gas tank borrowed from a 2002 Harley Sportster.
Norbert: "I got this bike about two years ago from a noted vintage bike builder that completely rebuilt the motor, cases were split and the bottom end trued and balanced with new bearings and seals. The cylinders were bored ten-over, new pistons, rings and instahled new valve guides. Valves and valve seats were refaced, new valve springs. All engine surfaces bead-blasted clean."
Norbert turned a 1942 Harley WLA Flathead basket case into a Custom Bobber.
Norbert: "When I got the bike it had no transmission, no seat, no gastank, no oil tank. I had that same builder machine brass valve covers and he cleaned up the top end and put in new rings. He also machined an oxygen tank that I had and made it the oil tank with battery mount."
Norbert: "The gas tank is from a 2002 Sportster. The front springer with was shortend to fit the original 1942 frame that came with the 1942 Motor.
I purchased the three speed tranny off eBay and had it completely rebuilt with new bearings, seals and some gears.
Leather solo seat has 3" springs.
Foot clutch with jockey shift."
